Sept 29 Webinar: Tripoli still on the brink of war? And what comes now?
Tripoli’s security remains fragile despite a Turkish-brokered agreement between the Dbeibha government and Rada Force—still unsigned and uncertain. Rada has vacated the civilian side of Mitiga Airport but retains its base, while lightly armed Libyan Army units now guard the perimeter, raising concerns about control. PM Dbeibha’s two committees aim to implement the deal, yet crime has surged as Rada patrols vanished from the streets. Skirmishes between Rada and the Zintani-led Public Security Force as well as recent clashes between GNU-loyal militias in Janzour highlight the volatility.
Is this a lasting solution for Tripoli? What comes next for a city still held hostage by militias?
