Ambassador Richard B. Norland Confirmed as the new U.S. Ambassador to Libya

The National Council on U.S Libya Relations would like to congratulate Ambassador Richard B. Norland on his well deserved confirmation to the position of U.S. Ambassador to Libya. Ambassador Norland is a career diplomat with remarkable experience. Most notably he served as the Foreign Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford. He also held the posts of U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Deputy Chief of Mission in Afghanistan and Deputy Chief of Mission in Latvia. Ambassador Norland was confirmed on August 1st.

We look forward to working with Ambassador Norland to advance stability, economic development, and the establishment of democratic institutions in Libya.
