LA REPUBBLICA is one of the two most important political daily newspapers in Italy, and by large the most contacted on the Internet. Founded in 1976 by Eugenio Scalfari, it has become the most innovative phenomenon of the Italian post-war publishing. Repubblica belongs to Gruppo Editoriale GEDI fully owned by private partners, owner of a group of local newspapers (Leghorn, Trieste, Parma, Treviso, Venice, and others) and some independent radio stations as well. The group publishes also Limes, the geopolitics magazine, one of the most successful products in the field of international politics in Europe.
